Manchester Development Company records, [ca. 1905-1937].

The subseries consists of records of the Manchester Development Company (Ga.) from ca. 1905-1937. The records include correspondence, contracts, financial records, minutes (1906-1936) of the stockholders' meetings, stock certificates, and receipts. The materials document the founding, by Fuller E. Callaway, of the Manchester Mills (a cotton mill) and village in Meriwether County (Ga.). Most of the records deal with the sale of lots and houses in the village, but the subseries also contains materials concerning construction of mill buildings, as well as the acquisition of looms and other machinery.
